I was born in Sri Lanka and immigrated to Canada as a refugee when I was five. Aside from a one-year stint in Brooklyn (in the 90s, before it was trendy), I’ve spent my entire life in Toronto.

I’ve has always loved technology and was lucky enough to be surrounded by it even when I was young. I built my first website when I was eleven and used CSS for the first time when I was thirteen. It was also during this time, in high school, that people started calling me ‘Mud’.

While attending the University of Toronto, I studied Philosophy, Architecture, English and French. Freelancing during university allowed me to hone my webdev skills, which led to my first job at a small digital agency called Big Bang Technology. Shortly after Big Bang shut down, I joined The Working Group.

During my time at TWG, I had three mandates: make the Studio one of the best places in the world to work, find and keep the most talented people, and ensure the way we work continued to evolve and lead the industry.

TWG was acquired by Deloitte on March 1, 2021, and I worked as a Director at Deloitte until November 2023, supporting the integration of the TWG team into Deloitte Digital.

At the end of my time at Deloitte, I took a sabbatical. This was the first time in my life I was off for longer than two weeks, and it was pretty fantastic.

Following my sabbatical, I took on the role of Executive Director at Knox Presbyterian Church in Toronto, Canada.

I live in Toronto with my wife, our two children, and a cat named Alpha. I wear jeans and a white shirt to work everyday.
